Do you ever feel stuck, as if you’re daily routines are like being on a treadmill, moving but with no clear destination? Or perhaps you're a professional who has achieved success but you’re quietly carrying a weight of anxiety, stress, or even a sense that something’s missing.
I know that feeling!

Years ago, when I was still teaching in the Clark County School District, in Nevada, and juggling a second career, I remember coming home after a long day, wanting to sit and relax, and instead I literally collapsed onto my chair at the kitchen table.
On paper, I had it all together—I was recognized as a “Top 10 Highly Qualified Teacher,” respected by colleagues, and proud of the impact I was making on my students. But inside, I was drained.
Even after staying at work until at least 4 pm, I still had at least two hours of work left to do each night at home, and I worked every Saturday for three to four hours to be ready for Monday.
I remember thinking, Is this it? Am I just meant to keep running at this pace until I can’t anymore?
That moment was a turning point for me. I realized that while I was good at helping others thrive, I wasn’t giving myself the same gift. That awareness became the seed that grew into my coaching journey.
My name is Cheri Rasmussen, and I am an Internationally Certified Solution Focused Life Coach, a Behavioral Strategist, and a Nationally Certified Parenting Coach. With decades of experience in both education and coaching, my passion is helping professionals and parents navigate life’s challenges, manage anxiety, and break free from the limiting beliefs holding them back.
During my thirty-plus years in education, I learned that every person—whether a child or an adult—has strengths inside them they don’t always see. My classroom wasn’t just about academics; it was a space where I noticed patterns, strengths, and small victories in students often unseen by others. That same skill now fuels the way I coach adults.
When I pursued my Level 3 Diamond Certification as a Solution Focused Life Coach, it was a natural extension of what I’d already been doing my entire career: shining a light on strengths, asking the right questions, and helping people believe in their own possibilities.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned personally is this: it’s not about “fixing” what’s broken—it’s about building on what already works.
When I first started coaching, I thought clients would want me to hand them answers. But the truth is, people don’t need another voice telling them what to do. They need someone who knows how to ask the right questions—the kind that unlock clarity and confidence they didn’t know they had.
Instead of digging into the past, I focus on simple questions like, “When was a time you felt calm and in control? What was different about that moment?” Watching my clients realize they already had strategies that worked—and then helping them build on those—was not only empowering for them, but for me as well.
I’m reminded of a season in my own life when I was balancing too many roles—wife, mom, teacher, friend, coach. It was overwhelming.
One day while waiting in traffic, feeling like I was on autopilot, I thought: What if this isn’t about doing more, but about noticing what’s already working? That single shift changed the way I approached my own stress—and it’s a perspective I now bring into every coaching conversation.
My unique value as a life coach lies in my Solution-Focused approach. Traditional therapy delves into the past to understand the "why" behind your challenges. My coaching focuses on the "how”. We don't spend our sessions analyzing what went wrong; instead, we identify what’s possible, what works, and how to take practical, forward-focused steps toward your most meaningful goals. This creates a supportive, safe, and empowering environment where you are in the driver's seat of your own transformation.
One of my favorite parts of coaching is watching people move from surviving to thriving. I’ve seen clients go from sleepless nights filled with anxiety to waking up with purpose and clarity. I’ve witnessed parents who once felt powerless discover new ways to connect with their children. And honestly, each client’s transformation fuels me too.
Here’s the truth: a better, more purposeful life isn’t something far off in the future. It’s built one intentional step at a time.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or simply ready for something more, I would love to walk alongside you. Let’s work together to remove the obstacles in your path and help you rediscover the calm, clarity, and confidence that’s already within you.
My one-on-one sessions are designed to help you uncover the power within you. I don't offer advice; instead, I use carefully skilled questions to help you tap into your own resources and strengths. For example, if you're feeling overwhelmed, I might ask, "When was a time you felt a sense of calm and control? What were you doing in that moment?" This method helps you recognize that you already possess the tools to overcome obstacles and allows you to build a personalized roadmap for success.
My coaching services are particularly beneficial for those who are navigating life transitions.
As a behavioral strategist, I work with a wide range of professionals, including those in mental and physical healthcare, who often carry immense responsibility and stress. I help them develop clear, actionable strategies to enhance relationships, improve communication, and reduce the overwhelm that can accompany a demanding career. Whether you are facing a career change, adjusting to a new phase of life, or simply seeking more clarity and purpose, I can help you move from a place of uncertainty to one of confidence.
Beyond my professional qualifications, I am committed to being a constant learner and contributor in my field. My work as a guest blogger for Life in Abundance Counseling Ministry is a testament to my dedication to helping others find peace and fulfillment. My goal is to help you move from a place of simply surviving to a place of thriving—to unlock the unlimited potential that is waiting to be realized.
It's time to stop feeling stuck and start living the life you deserve. A better, more purposeful life is not a distant dream—it's a series of small, intentional steps. Let's work together to remove the obstacles in your path and enhance your life in ways you never thought possible.
