From the sleepless nights with a newborn to the complexities of raising a teenager, parenting in Nevada is a role which demands constant adaptation and a deep well of patience. Many parents feel a sense of guilt or failure when they struggle, believing they should have all the answers. This mindset, however, is a common pitfall. Let’s be honest, we are not handed a perfect parenting playbook.

Instead of searching for the "right" advice or a simple answer, what if you could tap into your own inner wisdom and strengths to build the family life you envision?
This is the core of what I offer as a Certified Parent Coach.
My name is Cheri Rasmussen, a Nationally Certified Parenting Coach with over two decades of experience in education and coaching. My background as a Clark County School District Teacher for over thirty years, has given me a unique perspective on the dynamics of child development and the challenges families face. I’ve seen firsthand how communication breakdowns and limiting mindsets can impact parents and children. I do not offer a one-size-fits-all solution, but I help you discover the tools you already possess to create a more harmonious and connected family life.
Through the renowned Love and Logic program, I bring a time-tested, compassionate, and effective approach to parenting. The foundation of my coaching is solution-focused, which means we spend less time dwelling on past problems and more time building a clear, actionable path forward.
We'll work together to identify your family's unique strengths and goals. Whether you’re navigating co-parenting challenges, managing a child's anxiety, or simply looking to improve daily communication, my sessions are tailored to your specific needs.
In Nevada, many towns are 24-hours. This is especially true of Las Vegas. I raised three boys in this city, which caters to gambling, drinking, and all manner of wild and crazy pastimes, not to mention the sexual influences. I had to be very aware of how I parented, particularly as they approached adolescence. Here, diverse family structures and lifestyles are the norm, a personalized approach in parenting is crucial.
You're not just another client; you're a family with a distinct story.
Perhaps you are a professional feeling the immense pressure of balancing work and personal life, or a single parent in Las Vegas attempting to manage finances—maybe working more than one job, juggling schedules and childcare. As a single parent, I struggled with trying to accomplish everything necessary and still being a good mom.
In Nevada, where marriages and divorces can happen in just twenty-four hours, blended families are common. With this comes a new set of challenges—co-parenting. As someone who has co-parented with two different birth parents, I understand firsthand how complex this journey can be. That’s why I specialize in co-parenting coaching. Providing a safe and supportive space, we discover what’s already working in your family, while building practical tools and strategies to handle the daily ups and downs of parenting after separation, divorce, or remarriage.
Internationally Certified Solution Focused Life Coach also allows me to address the broader life transitions which often intersect with parenting. We can work on refining time management, navigating career changes, and reducing the stress and anxiety that can spill over into your family life.
So, how does this work in practice? We begin by moving away from what isn't working and focusing on what is. I use thoughtful, evidence-informed questions to guide you toward your own resources. For example, instead of me telling you how to handle a teenage tantrum, we might explore: "What's one thing you've tried in the past that had even a small positive effect?" or "Imagine your family a year from now, and things are going well. What does that look like? What small step did you take to get there?" This approach empowers you to tap into your own wisdom and build sustainable, practical strategies that align with your values.
The benefits of this process are profound. You will gain clarity and confidence, replacing feelings of being overwhelmed with a sense of purpose. You'll learn to communicate with your children in a way which fosters respect and cooperation, rather than conflict.
My goal is to help you "normalize" your life, shifting away from restrictive thinking and toward a place of unlimited potential—for both you and your children.
I'm a behavioral strategist, which means I help you identify patterns and habits which may be holding you back, and develop a new strategy for success.
My commitment to a forward-focused, solution-oriented approach is what sets me apart. I am dedicated to helping parents in Nevada, and beyond, find peace and joy in their most important role. I believe with the right support; you can not only survive the challenges of parenthood but truly thrive.
Are you ready to build a stronger, more connected family? Let's take the first step together to discover what's possible for your family. I invite you to schedule a complimentary consultation with me today. This is a no-obligation, twenty-minute consultation where you can learn more about my services, ask any questions you have, and get a feel for what it's like to work together.
